Aqua Expeditions
Sail the Amazon in unparalleled five-star luxury on Aqua Expeditions own custom-built luxury cruise ship, the M/V Aqua. The 130-foot-long floating luxury resort, M/V Aqua is the first true luxury cruise ship on the northern Amazon River in Peru and boasts a maximum of 24 cruise ship guests plus crew per sailing, making her the perfect size to sail along the Amazon River, while providing extremely comfortable lounge, dining and sleeping accommodations. With 12 luxury guest suites, measuring from 230 sq ft, all suites are air-conditioned, with large, outward-facing panoramic windows and sitting areas. Operating year round and sailing on 3,4 and 7 night itineraries - from and to - Iquitos, Peru, this luxurious small ship takes travelers to destinations rarely seen, including the remote Pacaya Samiria Reserve and shore excursions into the Amazon rainforest and jungle. The heart of every visit is the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, a protected wildlife area deep within the Amazon rainforest and jungle which can only be experienced by small ship. You will also encounter—and have the chance to interact with—local people living in villages along the Amazon River, as they have for centuries. When you arrive at the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, you will enter a world filled with birds in neon-brilliant colors, playful monkeys, graceful hawks and herons and millions of butterflies. You will have the opportunity to see hundreds of species, including the endangered pink Amazon dolphin, the rare giant river otter—and perhaps, if you are very lucky—a sleek, black jaguar. In this glorious environment parrots and macaws perch in trees as though posing, fuzzy orange and chic black howler monkeys munch on the treetop leaves, pre-historic looking iguanas, like mini-dinosaurs, laze in the sun. You will have the chance to watch long-legged cormorants fish for their dinner, and will probably see alligators cooling themselves in the river and possibly from a safe distance the legendary boa constrictor.
When the day’s sightseeing is over, the comforts of your luxurious floating hotel await you.
